This is my sons favourite day out. Its a fully interactive science museum, lots of hands-on exhibits, and things to do.
Throughout the day they run workshops and live shows, with lots of things kids can join in. The programs change throughout the year, check before you go whats on that day.
The Planetarium shows movies and live feeds from satellites above us. The movies are hugely entertaining and quite frankly mind bowing at times!
There are shows for young children all the way through to “live sky at night” shows aimed at adult audiences. There’s a full program on the website, sometimes on busy holidays, it’s worth booking ahead.
The science centre is an educational charity, and so the entrance fee and show charges keep the centre going. Its always been a favourite with my son & his friends.
Parking is quite good, there a restaurant & lots of outdoor space for picnics in good weather. Its quite easy to get to, takes just under an hour in normal traffic.
